A recently published study by Amy H. Gaesser, Ph.D. and Orv C. Karen Ph.D. concluded that “E.F.T. is an effective intervention to significantly reduce anxiety for high-ability adolescents.” In this pilot study they were comparing the Energy Psychology of Emotional Freedom Techniques (E.F.T.) to the traditional ‘gold standard’ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (C.B.T.) for anxiety in high school aged young people. Although both treatments resulted in reduction in anxiety, those students in the E.F.T. group required fewer treatments for a longer lasting result.
